Epson Expands Voice-Activated Printing Support for its Consumer Printers with Google Assistant and Siri

Epson America, Inc., has added voice-activated printing compatibility with Google Assistant™ and Siri®. Epson EcoTank®, WorkForce® and Expression® printers* are now compatible with three popular voice assistant platforms, including Amazon Alexa.

Epson printer users can now ask Google to print a variety of items, including useful paper for school such as graph paper and ruled paper, colorful designed paper for stationary or creative projects, scrapbooking embellishments, calendars, and seasonal designs. Instead of running to the store, now you can just print what you need when you need it.

With the Epson iPrint™ app, users can now install convenient shortcuts on their iOS device to save steps when printing and scanning. Need a quick print? Take a picture and ask Siri to print it. Your photo will be ready in seconds; you don’t even have to be anywhere near your printer.  Need to scan a document? Ask Siri to scan it with your phone, tablet or Epson printer.  Not sure how much ink you have left? Ask Siri to show you.

“Our customers have overloaded daily routines and are always looking for ways to save time and quickly get errands done,” said Jack Rieger, senior product manager of software and user experience, Epson America. “By expanding compatibility with some of the top smart home voice assistants, Epson is committed to making printing and scanning easier and more efficient for all of our busy customers.”

With simple voice commands, Epson helps increase busy families’ productivity by allowing them to print and scan on-demand, without having to navigate software and menus. The new Epson printer actions for Google Assistant and Epson iPrint Siri Shortcuts enable users to take advantage of voice assistant technology for their common printing and scanning needs.
