Toshiba Tec Reports Growth in FY 2021
In the fiscal year of 2021 ended March 31, 2022, Toshiba Tec net sales turned out to be JPY445.32 billion (US$3.43 billion), up 10% year-over-year, while operating profit increased 40% year-over-year to JPY11.57 billion (US$89.16 million).
Some other highlights include:
- Ordinary profit was 20 billion (US$78.60 million), up 42% year-over-year
- Profit attributable to owners of parent was JPY 5.38 billion (US$41.46 million), down 25% year-over-year
In the fiscal year 2021, net sales in the Workplace Solutions Business Group were JPY 182.13 billion (US$1.40 billion), up 15% year-over-year. Operating profit improved to JPY 957 million (US$7.37 million), a turnaround from the JPY 5.48 billion (US$42.23 million) operating loss in the previous fiscal year.
“We plan to expand sales of our mainstay MFPs in overseas and domestic markets, auto ID systems in overseas markets, and inkjet heads in domestic and overseas markets, as well as related products,” said the spokesman of Toshiba Tec.
Previously, Toshiba Tec forecasted that the operating profit forecast for the fiscal year 2021 was expected to decline from JPY 15 billion (US$115.35 million) to JPY 11.5 billion (US$88.43 million). The ordinary profit forecast was expected to decline from JPY 12 billion (US$92.28 million) to JPY 10 billion (US$76.92 million), while profit attributable to owners of parent forecast was expected to lower from JPY8 billion (US$61.53 million) to JPY5.5 billion (US$42.30 million).
