Indian Toners Ramps Up Toner Production Capacity
The largest manufacturer and exporter of compatible toners in India has increased its capacity from 3600 to 5400 metric tons per year as it looks to capture more global markets, based on growing domestic and international demand.
Indian Toners and Developers Limited (ITDL) is one of many international companies that will exhibit at the RemaxWorld Expo in Zhuhai between October 12 and 14 this year. They will be at booth 5225.
ITDL is the market leader in the Indian domestic market and exports toner to 15 other countries. It’s an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company that was incorporated in 1990 as a public limited company. ITDL is India’s largest manufacturer and exporter of compatible toners for use in laser printers, new-age digital machines, multi-function printers, copiers and wide-format printers and copiers.
“We are very pleased that our hard work and ingenuity are paying off,” said Akshat Jain, the Managing Director of ITDL (pictured right). “This is a technology-driven industry where R&D is a prerequisite to success.”
Employing highly automated and integrated German plants, and two manufacturing factories in North India, ITDL has nine state-of-the-art production lines producing 600 metric tons on each line. The company also operates its own exclusive R&D pilot plant. The Government of India has awarded ITDL for its “Excellence in Export Performance” consecutively for the past several years.
While India continues to be a price-sensitive market ITDL’s customers insist on quality products. As market pioneers and leaders, the company promotes responsible pricing—something Akshat Jain’s father, Sushil Jain (Chairman of ITDL—pictured left), instilled into the business 33 years ago. They both strongly encourage quality remanufacturing and manufacturing strategies and educate their customers to use quality toners that give higher cartridge yields while prolonging the life of the various components—in laser printers as well as copiers.
Their biggest international challenge used to be proving that Indian-made toners are at par with anything made elsewhere in the world, in terms of quality. But with the rise of India on the world stage, the ITDL can stand tall knowing their ITDL-compatible toners can proudly stand side by side with the best compatible toners manufactured in Japan, or anywhere else.
“Other cheap, quick products enter the toner race by flooding the market, but we have seen them come and go,” Akshat Jain added. “We ultimately win the race because of the ethical trade practices and the good business relationships we have with our customers.
