China Announces Visa-free Policy for Six Countries

Visitors from six countries are now allowed to enter China without the need for a visa. The visa-free trial will allow ordinary visitors to stay in China for up to 15 days.

On November 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China released an official announcement stating that unilateral visas will be granted to ordinary passport holders from France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia. The policy came into effect on December 1, 2023, and the trial period will run through to November 30, 2024.

This means visitors from these six countries will be able to attend the RemaxWorld Expo in Zhuhai in October 2024 without the need to apply for a visa.

The visa exemption also applies to individuals wanting to visit China for business, tourism, and visiting friends and relatives. However, it is important to note that the duration of stay cannot exceed 15 days.

Visa exemption policies already exist and remain unchanged for some visitors, including diplomats, from scores of other countries. However “ordinary” visitors can enter from countries including Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ecuador, Fiji, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Mauritius, Russia, and the UAE. In addition, citizens of Singapore or Brunei can again enjoy a visa exemption policy, which was suspended due to the pandemic, and which has been reinstated since June of this year. Additionally, China and Singapore are currently in discussions regarding the extension of the visa-free duration to 30 days. This matter is expected to be resolved in 2024.

China has been dedicated to attracting international visitors since March by simplifying visa applications and reducing application fees. The introduction of this new policy will undoubtedly bring joy to potential visitors wanting to travel to China to search for suppliers of printing devices and printing consumables.
