The company’s exceptional performance in disclosing its efforts towards climate change and water security has secured a double A score, marking its first inclusion on the water security A list and its fourth consecutive year on the climate change A list since 2020. Of over 24,000 companies assessed worldwide this fiscal year, only 61, including Ricoh, achieved recognition on CDP’s A-List in both categories.

Founded in 2000, CDP operates the world’s leading environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states, and regions. With a robust network of over 740 financial institutions managing assets exceeding $136 trillion, CDP encourages environmental disclosure and emission reduction efforts, driving investment and procurement decisions towards a sustainable, zero-carbon economy.

Emphasizing its commitment to realizing a “zero-carbon society” and promoting a “circular economy,” Ricoh has set ambitious Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets. Ricoh aims to reduce GHG emissions from its group companies by 63% by 2030 compared to 2015 and decrease GHG emissions across its entire supply chain by 40% by 2030, certified as “1.5°C targets” by the SBT Initiative (SBTi). Additionally, the company is actively engaging with suppliers to encourage medium to long-term GHG reduction targets and striving to achieve a 50% renewable energy ratio for its electricity consumption by 2030.

Ricoh has implemented policies and targets to reduce water usage across its business activities, recognising the significance of water resources in its operations. The company is committed to actively working towards achieving water consumption reduction goals throughout its entire group.

In alignment with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, Ricoh has been enhancing its disclosure practices. Since 2021, the company has published TCFD Reports and Circular Economy Reports to transparently showcase its strategies and initiatives addressing climate change and resource circulation to stakeholders.

Ricoh remains dedicated to leveraging its business activities to address societal challenges and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, collaborating closely with its business partners and customers.
