Automated Offices Provide More Time – Berto makes the coffee
Automation and artificial intelligence are no longer science fiction. They have entered the workplace. Offices, factories, manufacturing lines, picking and packaging have all moved into the new technologies which are proving to be more efficient and effective than using humans.
According to Service Futures, “the only thing rising faster than the development of automation technology is the fervour that surrounds automation in the workplace.” There is no denying that automation and the discussion surrounding automation, is everywhere today – including the workplace.
Some are thrilled about the convenience that automation offers, like our office lady in this month’s cartoon, but most remain slightly cautious about its encroachment into our offices.
According to the World Economic Forum, 85% of the 200 business leaders questioned in a survey agreed that automation will create more jobs than it replaces in 10 years’ time. Additionally, Deloitte has already provided evidence of the potential job creation associated with automation, claiming that automation has created nearly 3.5 million high-skilled jobs in the UK, adding a total £140 billion in new wages to the economy.
