Annual Tracker Reports Boost In Sales of A4 Laser MFPs in India
More than 3.2 million units of A4 printers were shipped in India over the past few quarters ending in June 2014, according to the 2014 Annual Tracker released by Research and Markets, the world’s leading market research store.
As was revealed, India’s A4 printer market saw growth due to the reduction in hardware prices and printing cost per page. Moreover, increasing penetration of the Internet in India has helped the growth of digital content, which in turn has attracted consumers towards reliable and cost efficient printing solutions.
It is noted that inkjet and laser products together represented about 92% share of the market. The demand for laser printers marked up over single-function inkjet devices, as a result of technological advancements and reduction in the prices of multi-function printers (MFPs). Also, growth in corporate activities across the banking, financial, manufacturing, IT and government sector have driven the demand for MFP devices across the country.
In terms of printer OEMs, HP ranked first in the overall A4 printer market, followed by Canon and Epson.
