Apex to Invest Chip Development Projects
Apex to Invest Chip Development Projects
According to Ninestar, its subsidiary Apex is going to invest RMB 2.2 billion (US$34.40 million) to build chip development related projects in China (Shanghai) free trade pilot zone.
Ninestar claims that the investment will play a significant role in terms of promoting Apex’s chip development, linking upstream and downstream high-quality resources, and completing industry layout.
Chip shortage has been a hot topic. Previously, Guanguo Wen from Print-Rite Technology Development Co., Ltd, addressed the issue at the Remaxworld Summit 2021, held in September 16-18, 2021.
By the time of his speech, Wen was not confident if chip shortage, especially those used in the printing consumables, can be alleviated in the near future, although chip production is predicted to be able to recover by the middle of 2022.
With Apex investing RMB 2.2 billion in chip development projects, it is reasonable to believe that the consumable chip supply shortage will be alleviated in the future.
It is said that Apex has signed an investment agreement with the Lingang district management committee of the free trade pilot zone.
