Apex’s Quick Chip Solution for Kyocera “Red-Head” Printers

Within a month of Kyocera releasing their new TK-5323/5333 series of toner kits (see image), Apex has released its own chip that can be used during the remanufacturing of used kits or manufacturing of new compatible toner kits.

Apex redeveloped and launched their replacement chips on August 2, 2019, less than a month after the July 8, 2019 launch of the Kyocera, A4 color laser printer ECOSYS P5018cdn in China. This printer comes with speeds of 18ppm in both color and black & white printing and supports duplex and network printing.

Of particular interest to the Chinese government and official Chinese organisations is that this printer can provide “redhead spot color” printing. This is where a special-color red is applied to the top of a printed page to make them recognisable as official documents (see sample document in the image at right).

According to Apex, the new chips provide consistent performance and are easy to install in recycled cartridges.
