Attention: Trade Mark Protection in India

According to certain court paper, RT Media noticed that Itone (India) Pvt. Ltd had approached the Honorable High Court, Mumbai to protect their trademark.

Sandeep Sanghvi, Managing Director of Itone told RT Media that Various Honorable High Courts in India are taking a very strict view for copying trademarks and labels of others and such parties are being penalized by being made to pay lacs of rupees as penalty.

Recently four defendants were required to give an undertaking and pay a sum of Rs. 5 lacs as penalty as directed by the Honorable Court. Raids were conducted across Mumbai and Kolkata and counterfeit goods were seized.

Defendants are:

1. Dhanraj Surana M/s Disha Copier (Kolkata)
2. Patel Traders (modi street, Mumbai)
3. Mayurkumar Nandlal Punj (modi street, Mumbai)
4. Lalaji Naran Hanat (modi street, Mumbai)
