Canon Continues Removal Requests in Canada and Mexico

Canon announced the filing of infringement reports with Amazon in Canada and Mexico, seeking certain toner cartridges being removed from Amazon listings.

In Canada, Canon’s infringement report alleged that:

• certain model CE320A, CE321A, CE322A, CE323A, CF210A, CF211A, CF212A and CF213A toner cartridges sold by Building GYF via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. Canon requested the removal of the corresponding listings for these products, having Amazon Standard Identification Numbers B0822PKSTR, B081T694YK, B0822PK27W, B0822PFY1Y, B0822NWXDN, B081T2SPLS, B081T1VD4B, B081T59KC8, B081T2CCZB, B0822NZ9MP, B081T65622, B0822Q2SWX, B081T5FJ82, B0822PLJGQ, B081T5R9BF, B0822RBL16, B0822PGX19, B0822PSQ5R, B0822PBLS4, B0822P8TB9, B0822NZWRY, B0822PHZTL, B0822PG7ZN and B0822PMKZG.
• certain model CE320A, CE321A, CE322A, CE323A, CF380A, CF381A, CF382A, CF383A, CF210A, CF211A, CF212A and CF213A toner cartridges sold by DianShangWu via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791. At the time of this announcement, the above-identified listings were no longer available on Amazon.ca. Filing an infringement report with Amazon.ca is a service offered by Amazon and does not constitute an official finding of infringement. The decision to take down a product is in the discretion of Amazon and is based on information provided by Canon.

In Mexico, Canon’s infringement report alleged that claim 160 of Mexican Patent Number 308881 was infringed by certain models CE255A and CF226A toner cartridges offered by URZAIZ BASSO SA DE CV under the Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) B07BR6S6GR, B07WD5R38X, B07JMR42RL. Those toner cartridges are sold for use in HP laser beam printers.

After receiving Canon’s Report Infringement Form, Amazon removed the respective products, and at the time of this announcement, the above-identified listings of URZAIZ BASSO SA DE CV were no longer available on Amazon.mx.
