Canon Filed More Report Infringement Forms with Amazon
Canon continued its efforts in filing report infringement forms with Amazon after the new year holiday.
In Australia
Canon filed a Report Infringement Form with Amazon.com.au based on the alleged infringement of claim 28 of Canon’s Australian Patent Number AU2007205464 regarding certain models CF380X, CC530A, CE410X, CF381A, CC531A, CE411A, CF383A, CC533A and CE413A cartridges offered by NES Printer Supplies & Services under ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) B07D3MZ4XP, B07D3M7FLN and B07D3M7PDW. After receipt of the Report Infringement Form, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the OEM HP cartridge models and provide a non-OEM housing and a non-OEM force receiving device according to claim 28 of AU2007205464.
In Spain
Canon filed a report infringement forms with Amazon ES based on the alleged use of claims 1 and 2 of the Spanish portion of Canon’s European Patent EP 1 977 289 (“EP ‘289”) regarding the cartridge models CC530A, CC531A, CC532A, CC533A, CB540A, CB541A, CB542A and CB543A offered by Litpol Ltd under the ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) B07RL4N4Z4 and B07RL4MXR1. Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing and a non-OEM force receiving device according to claim 1 of EP ‘289. Furthermore, they comprise an elastic portion according to claim 2 of EP ‘289.
In Germany, UK, Italy, and Spain
Canon filed report infringement forms with Amazon.de, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.it and Amazon.es based on the alleged use of claims 1 and 2 of the German, UK, Italian and Spanish portions of Canon’s European Patent EP 1 977 289 (“EP ‘289”) regarding certain models of toner cartridges offered by XIANSHIBEILINQUHUAHUAHUASHANGMAOBU under the following ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers).
Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing and a non-OEM force receiving device according to claim 1 of EP ‘289. Furthermore, they comprise an elastic portion according to claim 2 of EP ‘289.
Canon is the most diligent of printer OEMs to scrutinise the online listings of aftermarket printer cartridges, particularly on Amazon.
The iconic imaging leader has yet again, used the infringement reporting service offered by Amazon to see thousands of listings removed in Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and France.
