Canon Opens New Americas Headquarters
Canon U.S.A. Inc officially announced the opening of its Canon Americas Headquarters in Melville, N.Y., which will serve all North and South American countries.
The new Canon headquarters covers an area of 700,000 square foot and, as Canon stated, stands as a model for environmental stewardship and innovation. Joining London and Tokyo as one of the three worldwide headquarters locations, the new facility features several environmentally conscious elements including: daylight harvesting, drought resistant vegetation and electric vehicle charging stations. The opening is estimated to indirectly bring up to 10,000 jobs to the region
The new Canon Americas Headquarters also has an onsite showroom and a customer care center. The showroom will be used for product demonstrations for customers, dealers, media and students, while the customer care center will serve as a product-solutions center for consumers. Repair options, cost estimates, upgrade possibilities and recommendations will be offered by trained professionals. Although repairs cannot be made on site, Canon can ship the products to another service center for repair then return the repaired products to customers.
“The official opening of the Canon Americas Headquarters is an exciting time for our Company and we are grateful for all of the local support we have received along the way,” said Joe Adachi, President and CEO of Canon U.S.A. “Canon’s dedication to the environment and the community is an integral part of our corporate culture. The headquarters, which is designed to meet LEED® gold certification, will serve as a symbol of this commitment.”
(Note: LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to set a benchmark for design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings.)
