Canon Reports 1308 Takedowns on Amazon in Q4
According to Canon Inc., it took down 1,202 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, France, and the Netherlands during the fourth quarter of 2022, using the Amazon Reporting Tool, letters of inquiry, and/or information letters.
Since June 2018, Canon has successfully removed a total of 30,263 listings from these countries. The listings in question offered third-party laser toner cartridges that Canon believed infringed its European patents.
In the fourth quarter, Canon also took down 106 infringing listings from Amazon in Canada, Mexico, and the US through Amazon’s takedown procedures. Since June 2018, Canon has removed a total of 3,508 listings in these countries. The listings offered third-party laser printer toner cartridges that Canon believed infringed its US and Canadian patents, as well as Mexican patents.
Canon remains committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of others, and actively enforces its own intellectual property rights.
