Canon Requests More Toner Cartridge Removal
Canon Inc. filed infringement reports with Amazon.com seeking the removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges.
Canon’s infringement reports identified the product offerings shown in the table below and alleged that cartridges sold under these offerings infringe Canon’s U.S. Pat. No. 11,156,954. Canon requested that Amazon remove these product offerings from Amazon.com.
Throughout the development, sales, and marketing process, Canon respects the intellectual property of other companies and individuals and expects others to similarly respect Canon’s intellectual property rights.
In the third quarter of 2022, Canon announced that it successfully removed 1,171 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands.
Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands is 29,061. The listings offered third-party laser toner cartridges from vendors that Canon believes infringed one or more of European Patent No. 2 087 407, European Patent No. 2 137 577, European Patent No. 1 977 289, European Patent No. 3 470 931 and European Patent No. 3 270 230.
