Canon Seeks More Toner Cartridge Removal from Amazon
Canon Inc. filed infringement reports with Amazon.com seeking the removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges.
Canon’s infringement reports identified the product offerings shown in the table below and alleged that cartridges sold under these offerings infringe Canon’s U.S. Pat. No. 11,169,483. Canon requested that Amazon remove these product offerings from Amazon.com.
At the time of this announcement, the product offerings listed above were no longer available on Amazon.com.
Throughout the development, sales and marketing process, Canon respects the intellectual property of other companies and individuals and expects others to similarly respect Canon’s intellectual property rights.
In July, Canon claimed that it had removed 46 listings from Amazon in the second quarter of 2022 (Q2) in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America through Amazon takedown procedures.
Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America is 3,310.
In addition, it had removed 956 listings from Amazon in Q2 in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands.
Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands is 27,890.
