Canon U.S.A. Earns Eight Summer Pick Awards from Buyers Laboratory LLC
Canon U.S.A. announced that eight of its imageRUNNER ADVANCE and imageCLASS multifunction office systems have earned Summer “Pick” awards from Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI) in the A3, A4 and Energy Efficiency categories. Canon’s MFPs achieved high scores in BLI’s tests for reliability, image quality, productivity, paper handling, ease of use and more.
“The imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs that earned awards from BLI feature new and improved capabilities from previous generations that further enhance the user experience, streamline document workflows and optimize business processes for better control and overall performance,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Marketing, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. “The two Canon models recognized for energy efficiency both have an energy saving mode that uses less power than competitive MFPs tested by BLI.”
“The BLI awards won by Canon are evidence of the company’s focus on providing its customers a variety of devices across a broad range of document imaging categories,” said Daria Hoffman, BLI managing editor. “Many of Canon’s products continue to provide excellent results during our extensive lab testings year after year, and we look forward to seeing Canon continue to provide best-in-class MFP solutions.”
Canon was recognized in the following categories:
A3 Size: This season, Canon’s devices lead the A3 category, resulting in a total of five Summer “Pick” awards, featuring devices with multiple speed bands in both color and monochrome sectors. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5235 A3 color MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5240 A3 color MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5250 A3 color MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6265 A3 monochrome MFP and imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6275 A3 monochrome MFP were selected for outstanding overall performance and superior reliability.
“It is a great accomplishment that, combined, these five devices produced more than half a million impressions with no service calls and just two misfeeds among them,” said George Mikolay, BLI senior product editor for A3 MFPs.
A4 Size: Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE 500iF has been awarded the “Pick” award for “Outstanding A4 Monochrome MFP for Large Workgroups.” The device provides outstanding reliability, print quality and a single, flexible platform that meets the needs of even the most challenging document-centric office environments.
“Flawless reliability and top-notch productivity are just a few of this device’s many assets,” said Ian Latham, BLI senior analyst. “Offering a full-color, tiltable touchscreen that can be easily customized to each user’s specific needs, this device is a snap to use.”
Energy Efficiency: Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5255 and imageCLASS D530 have earned BLI’s “Outstanding Achievement” award for their lower than average energy consumption during BLI’s environmental testing. “Despite their vastly different market segments, both devices achieved faster than average recovery times from sleep mode and offer job review and proof modes to reduce paper and consumables waste, which contributed to their five-star overall ratings,” said Lisa Reider, BLI senior product editor for environmental testing.
BLI issues its “Pick” awards twice yearly, giving special recognition to the hardware and software products that provided the best performance in the independent testing firm’s rigorous evaluations. Hardware products undergo a reliability test as well as a battery of tests to assess image quality, productivity, paper handling, ease of use and network connectivity, among others. Its “Outstanding Achievement” awards acknowledge products or capabilities that stand out in qualities such as innovation, usefulness and energy efficiency.
