Canon has introduced the imagePROGRAF TC-21 and TC-21M, two compact, four-color (CMYK) large format desktop printers designed for professionals in architecture, engineering, design, retail, and education. The TC-21M comes with an A4 scanner that allows large-format copies without a computer. Both models can support printing up to size of A1+ and feature an auto sheet feeder for handling various media from A3 to A6 sheets.

Enhanced Usability and Space-Saving Design

With an emphasis on convenience, the TC-21 and TC-21M allow all operations—paper loading, ink refilling, and print collection—to be performed from the front of the device, making them suitable for compact workspaces. An additional tiltable operation panel further improves usability and clear visibility based where the printer is placed.

The TC-21M is capable of enlarging A4 documents to A1+ and enable users to:

  • “Enlarge & Split Copy”– Create A0-sized posters by printing and assembling multiple A4 sheets.
  • “Repeat Copy”– Print multiple duplicates on a roll or sheet, useful for labels.
  • “Layout Copy”– Arrange multiple scanned images for continuous roll printing.

Expanded Printing Capabilities

Both models introduce Minimal Margin Printing, which reduces the left and right margins to approximately 0.5mm and eliminates top and bottom margins when using roll paper, maximizing printable space. The printers employ an image processing method from Canon’s higher-end imagePROGRAF models that guarantees vivid colors even on plain paper. High-capacity ink tanks further support efficient printing.

Additionally, Canon’s free PosterArtist software provides users with professional design tools for posters and flyers, catering to business and educational needs.

Sustainable Design

Canon has prioritized sustainability by incorporating recycled steel into the TC-21 and TC-21M bodies, along with 40% recycled resin—a notable improvement over their predecessors. The printers’ packaging has also been redesigned with recyclable cardboard instead of polystyrene foam, reducing environmental impact. Both models have received EPEAT Gold certification, recognizing their eco-friendly construction.

The imagePROGRAF TC-21 and TC-21M will be available through Canon resellers starting in May 2025.
