Clover Promotes Fully IP-Cleared Products
Recently, Canon and Brother have joined other OEMs in aggressively protecting their intellectual property (IP) rights against the multitude of clone products. Canon forced Amazon to remove over a thousand Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) that were linked to toners that infringed on its patents. Following suit, Brother has urged the U.S. International Trade Commission to ban Chinese-made compatible cartridges that allegedly infringe on its toner cartridge technology. Clover wants partners to know its remanufactured products are always 100% IP-cleared.
In this legally charged environment, companies must perform due diligence on each and every partner whose products they represent, or their business could be at risk for lawsuits. This is a complicated topic that has long-term repercussions for office equipment resellers. Litigation is expensive, time-consuming, and can negatively impact company reputation — regardless of whether or not a company wins.
Clover has addressed this issue head-on to assist its partners in navigating this volatile topic.
Clover takes the issue of patent rights seriously, investing large sums to protect its partners from this type of risk. Dedicated engineering, legal, and R&D teams ensure Clover remanufactured cartridges and the components they contain are rigorously analyzed to ensure they’re IP-cleared.
Eric Martin, President of Clover Imaging Group, states, “Clover is the manufacturer you can trust for legal, IP-cleared products. We employ a stringent patent clearance process that puts keeping our customers’ reputations safe and their risk minimized at the forefront of our operations.”
Clover currently holds 69 patents with 27 more pending. Its IP guarantee promises that all Clover imaging supplies are manufactured using non-infringing components. In fact, Clover is so confident in the integrity of its products that it guarantees resellers full indemnity against any OEM litigation.
A spokesman of the company told RT Media, “Moving forward, Clover will continue to provide its partners with the highest-quality, IP-cleared products to keep their businesses safe and their reputations secure.”
