Clover Switches to Remanufacturing & Reselling
Clover CEO Jim Cerkleski (pictured) said he has transformed clover from a recycler into a global remanufacturer and reseller which aims to hit US$1.1 billion in revenue this year, reported ChicagoBusiness.com.
According to Cerkleski, Clover, which was worth US$1.7 million as a recycler, has switched its focus to remanufacturing and reselling cartridges, mobile phones and cell-tower equipment. In addition, Clover has helped keep 70 million cartridges and at least 4 million phones out of landfills in 2013. Cerkleski said, “The environment has profited as well. I’m a sales and marketing guy, and it’s a lot easier to tell a story when everybody wins.”
As was revealed, Cerkleski has projected Clover to sell refurbished cartridges worldwide under private labels through big-box stores and also proceeded to increase the company revenue to US$100 million in 2005. Since 2005, Clover has made numerous acquisitions, including purchasing a company with cartridge remanufacturing plants in Mexico and Portugal, a mobile phone recycling business selling the phones back to carriers as replacement models and a telecom-equipment recycler.
