CMO Christa Carone Departs Xerox after 17 Years
Xerox CMO Christa Carone is departing the company at the end of the month to lead communications at an undisclosed organization.
Xerox will open a search for a new CMO. Global PR head Karen Arena will partner with Duane Schulz, the firm’s current head of marketing operations, who, in the interim, is overseeing advertising, digital, experiential and marketing operations, Carone told the Holmes Report. She declined to name where she’s headed, at this time.
Carone, a 17-year Xerox veteran, was named CMO in 2008 to oversee advertising, experiential marketing, PR, internal communications, integrated campaigns, interactive and social marketing, and the Xerox Foundation. Prior to becoming CMO, Carone was VP of global communications.
Carone initially disclosed her departure in a contributed column earlier this month.
