Color Recovery Offers Waste Toner Solution
Color Recovery of Maastricht (The Netherlands) announced that it can reduce the carbon footprint for remanufacturers of toner cartridges in Europe. The company’s new Certified Programme ensures that “100% quality control” is maintained during the remanufacturing process.
Color Recovery is offering the Certified Programme to cartridge remanufacturers and recyclers for what it claims is a “reasonable fee.” The programme can be used in marketing strategies for selling remanufactured toner cartridges. Color Recovery adds that the programme will also “offer a legitimate and sustainable contribution towards reducing the “carbon footprint”. Therefore, it can be regarded as a “favorable step” towards environmental, local and federal regulations in Europe.
In addition, the company that provides the toner for processing will receive a certified Waste to Energy Certificate from Color Recovery. It is un- clear whether the waste toner is used to fuel slurry-fed, powder burners in a power generating plant (as its Waste to Energy certificate implies), or if the processing step recovers toner that can be re-used in a printer or copier cartridge.
