Context Sees Growth in Unit Sales of A3 Laser MFPs in Western Europe
According to European IT research company Context, the unit sales of A3 laser Multi-function Printers (MFPs) increased by over 10% year-on-year (YOY) in Western Europe for the first 12 weeks of the first quarter of 2014 (1Q2014). Analysts opined that the growth was mainly driven by the decline of the average selling prices (ASP).
Context revealed that most of the vendors gained a double-digit YOY growth in this segment. However, the distribution sales of Xerox and OKI slightly decreased in the period. Samsung enjoyed over 30% YOY growth in unit sales and HP gained more than 31% increase. Since Lexmark’s ASPs decrease by 11%, it registered 94% YOY growth.
As was revealed, Xerox with 34% market share maintains its leading position in the A3 MFP market in Western Europe. Samsung accounted for 22% market share, followed by HP with 14% and Lexmark with 8%.
