Creative Recycling Systems Collects, Recycles Electronic Waste
Creative Recycling Systems (CRS), a leader in IT Asset Management and Electronics Recycling, joined Loudoun County at an electronic waste recycling event in Ashburn, Virginia.
At the Telos Corporation parking lot where this event was held, CRS collected electronics material for recycling. They accept printers, personal computers, laptops, cell phones, hard drives and telecom equipment for no charge. All television sets were recycled for a $12 fee per item and a $3 fee per item for monitors. Unacceptable items include dryers, printer and toner cartridges, household batteries, light bulbs, fluorescent lights, thermostats, fire alarms, as well as household appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, etc. Residents and businesses could simply bring their electronics to the event. CRS employees helped to remove them from each vehicle and properly sort them on-site.
CRS’ e-Stewards® certification serves the goals of Loudoun County and assures residents that all the collected electronics will not be disposed in a landfill or exported to a foreign country.
The official website of Loudoun County provides a complete list of materials that can be recycled. There was a limit of 15 items per vehicle. All items containing sensitive data will be properly sanitized and all material collected by CRS will be reused, recovered or fully recycled.
Technology and consumers’ digital lifestyles continue to evolve. Consumers need a convenient and responsible way to recycle their old products after upgrading electronics. This collection event provides the opportunity to create a more sustainable planet.
