Ricoh has released its financial results of the 2016 fiscal year (ended on March 31, 2017), showing a slight increase in the domestic sales of the company.
According to Ricoh, the company’s total sales volume of the 2016 fiscal year was around JP¥2,028.8 billion (US$18.2 billion), seeing a year-over-year(YOY) decrease of 8.2%. The gross profit of the company in 2016 was JP¥788.6 billion (US$7.06 billion), which was 10.6% less when compared with the fiscal year of 2015.
In the segment of the sales in Imaging&Solutions, the sales of office imaging products, including MFPs, copiers, laser printers, etc. witnessed a YOY drop of 11% to JP¥1,274.8 billion (US$11.42 billion). The sales of network system solutions fell to JP¥310.9 billion (US$2.78 billion), marking a YOY decrease of 2.4%.
In terms of the sales divided across the regions, the Japanese domestic sales of Ricoh had slightly increased 0.8% to JP¥767.5 billion (US$6.87 billion) in the 2016 fiscal year compared with the previous fiscal year.
Overseas sales were cut back to JP¥1,261.3 billion (US$11.29 billion), seeing a YOY drop of 12.9%. The overseas sales in the market of the Americas, the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), and other regions saw a YOY plummet of 12.2%, 14% and 12.1% respectively.
