Epson Introduces Refurbished MFP & Cartridge Recycling program
Epson announced the release of its first refurbished model, the LX-10000R, for the Epson Smart Charge printer series. Concurrently, the company has started a program to help customers recycle their ink cartridges.
The Epson Smart Charge LX-10000/LX-10000F (referred to as the LX series) multifunction printers were introduced in June, 2017. A significant breakthrough of the LX series is its incorporation of Epson’s Heat-Free Technology, which allows high-speed printing without the use of heat, boosting both sustainability and productivity at the same time.
The refurbished LX-10000R model shares all the key advantages of the LX series while further contributing to the reduction of environmental impact. Epson first collects old devices from customers and then remanufactures them in its own factories. During the production, spare parts are reused as much as possible to minimize the use of natural resources. All refurbished products are guaranteed with the same performance as new devices, with a warranty of up to 6-month for added assurance. The refurbished printers are associated with lower CO2 emission and applied with minimal packages as part of Epson’s endeavor towards sustainability.
In addition to the refurbishment program, Epson also introduced an ink cartridge recycling program for the LX series. Customers can return their used cartridges to Epson for recycling and receive remanufactured ones later. The program aims to promote sustainability causes by reducing the use of plastic and other resources.
This is not the first time Epson recycling effort; the company has previously offered refurbishment services for other products including projectors, watches and computers. And the cartridge recycling program originated from the one designed for large-format printers in October, 2023. Starting from the LX-10000R, Epson will gradually extend these services to other printer models as well in the future.
