Epson Introduces Seventh Generation of Cartridge-Free Printing
Epson America, Inc. has announced the launch of the EcoTank® ET-2980 Wireless All-in-One Color Supertank Printer, marking the seventh generation of its cartridge-free EcoTank printer series. The ET-2980 incorporates Epson’s PrecisionCore® Heat-Free technology, designed to enhance print quality and reliability for everyday users.
According to Epson, the EcoTank series was developed to address common printing concerns, such as the cost and inconvenience of ink cartridges, the expense of color printing, and the risk of running out of ink unexpectedly. The latest model builds on these principles with an updated design and technology.
The ET-2980 is designed for home use and offers improved print speeds, a permanent printhead, and uniquely keyed EcoFit™ bottles intended to minimize ink waste. The printer includes a supply of ink estimated to last up to three years, with replacement bottles providing the equivalent of approximately 90 ink cartridges.
Connectivity features include built-in USB support and compatibility with the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Agile Multiband™ standard, as well as Apple® AirPrint. The printer also integrates with the Epson Smart Panel® app, allowing users to control functions from an iOS or Android device. Additional features include a 1.44-inch color screen, automatic duplex printing, a 100-sheet paper tray, and a built-in scanner.
The EcoTank ET-2980 is available in black and white models. The black version is sold at Micro Center, Amazon.com, Officedepot.com, Staples.com, and Bestbuy.com, while the white version is available through Office Depot, Staples, Best Buy, Micro Center, Nebraska Furniture Mart, La Curacao, Brands Mart, AAFES, London Drugs, Amazon.com, and Walmart.com. The printer has a suggested retail price of $299.99. More details can be found at Epson’s website.
