Epson Requests Section 337 Probe of 19 Aftermarket Firms

According to the United States International Trade Commission (USITC), Epson filed a complaint against 19 aftermarket companies on December 23, 2014, requesting an investigation under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930.

It is stated that Paul F. Brinkman, on behalf of Epson Portland Inc., Epson America, Inc., and Seiko Epson Corporation, filed the complaint, regarding certain ink cartridges and components. Epson claimed that 5 of its patents were infringed, including U.S. patent Nos.: 8,366,233, 8,454,116, 8,794,749, 8,801,163 and 8,882,513, according to the filing.
