G&G Continues to Lead the Way in Sustainable Remanufacturing
Following the release of information about sustainable practices at its remanufacturing inkjet cartridge factory last month, G&G is revealing more, this time about its toner cartridge factory.
Customers, distributors, and partners have been invited to explore the sustainable capabilities as G&G continues to open its doors to public scrutiny.
G&G’s commitment to sustainability has never changed since it commenced operations in 2000. It was founded on the principles of providing choice for consumers, delivering reliably consistent quality products while minimizing environmental impact.
The sustainable capabilities of G&G at its remanufactured toner cartridge facility include:
Innovative Air Quality Improvement System
An advanced air quality improvement system has been installed on the roof of the factory. During the automated toner filling and vacuuming process, these machines work to eliminate the pungent odor and create fresh air. As a result, engineers, technicians, and other staff can work in a healthy and safe environment.
Scientific and Detailed Remanufacturing Process
Every G&G remanufactured cartridge you receive has undergone at least 12 tests from the selection of raw materials through to packaging. One of the most important parts is sorting and grading. G&G requires all incoming raw materials to be rigorously inspected against a set of strict standards. The cartridges are then split and cleaned to prevent toner contamination. All components and parts are assembled by well-trained staff and cross-checked to ensure the quality of each process. After being reassembled the cartridges undergo a series of tests, before being filled and vacuumed on automated production lines. By extending the life of the cartridges, G&G significantly reduces waste generation and helps its customers contribute to a greener future.
Strict Empties Management Systems
In compliance with the European Union’s first sale doctrine, G&G implements strict empties management systems throughout the remanufacturing process. Each shipment arriving from the EU must be documented, sorted, graded and stored separately. In order for G&G remanufactured cartridges to be returned to the EU, they must match the Bill of Materials and SKUs for EU and EEA models. In 2022, more than 26 million cartridges were recycled by G&G. This demonstrates G&G’s commitment to sustainable operations and sets an example for other industry players.
Clean Energy and Sustainable Water Treatment
G&G’s toner factory is powered by clean energy collected from the sun. There are 12,000 square meters of solar panels that capture this clean energy. In addition, G&G also has the capability to turn the “wastewater” collected from the cleaning of empties into “wealth” through its sustainable water treatment. The “rich,” clean water is used to water the factory gardens and grounds.
