G&G Wins Remanufacturing Achiever Award
G&G Wins Remanufacturing Achiever Award
G&G has been recognized with the prestigious Remanufacturing Achiever Award at the 2024 RemaxWorld Expo, a testament to the company’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and innovation. This accolade highlights G&G’s role as a pioneer in the remanufacturing industry, having been a key player in recycling inkjet cartridges since its founding 24 years ago.
Leading the Charge in Remanufacturing
Since its establishment in 2000, G&G has emerged as one of Asia’s largest remanufacturers of printer consumables. By October 2024, the company is set to reach a significant milestone—recycling and remanufacturing 120 million empty printer cartridges. This effort has saved 842 million new parts and cut down CO2 emissions by over 3,500 tons, equivalent to planting 163,000 trees. Through initiatives like its postage-free empty cartridge collection program in Europe and China, G&G is making it easier for consumers to participate in its green mission.
Sustainable Practices at the Core
G&G’s commitment to sustainability is underscored by its ability to secure an exemption when China banned the import of e-waste in 2018, making it one of the few companies still able to import used printer cartridges for remanufacturing. The company operates a massive 12,000-square-meter facility, where over 750,000 cartridges are sorted and prepared for reuse every month, underscoring G&G’s dedication to minimizing waste and driving circular economy practices.
Innovating for a Greener Future
G&G continues to push boundaries with its eco-friendly practices. In 2023 alone, the company generated 2.2 million kWh of clean energy using photovoltaic cells on the roofs of its factories. Additionally, G&G has invested US$1.25 million in a cutting-edge sewage treatment station that processed 180,000 tons of wastewater, which is safely reused on the company’s grounds.
Global Recognition for Green Efforts
G&G’s green initiatives have not gone unnoticed. In 2023, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) upgraded the company’s sustainability rating to triple-B. With 23,804 product models compliant with RoHS and 23,366 compliant with REACH, G&G is positioned as a global leader in sustainable manufacturing. The company has also set ambitious goals, including a 50% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.
Commenting on the award, Eric Zhang, General Manager of Ninestar Image, stated, “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Our focus on sustainable practices not only benefits our business but also contributes significantly to the environment. This award motivates us to continue driving innovation and setting new standards in the remanufacturing industry.”
