Guangdong Print Consumable Industry Association Established

Founded in early 2014, Guangdong Print Consumable Industry Association (GDPCIA) held its first meeting at China Mayors Plaza in Guangzhou, China. Print-Rite Holdings Limited was selected as the Chairman company. It will partner with several vice-chairman companies, including Mito Color Imaging Company Limited, Recycling Times Media Corporation and Foshan Shunde Cobol Industrial Co., Ltd.  Representatives from local government departments, including Guangdong Administration Bureau of NPO and The Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province, have joint the event and announced the launch of the association with the committee.

As was revealed, Print-Rite proposed to set up GDPCIA in 2012. Ten companies, including Mito Color Imaging Company Limited, Recycling Times Media Corporation, Foshan Shunde Cobol Industrial Co., Ltd. and New high-end Industrial Co., Ltd. participated in the preparation process. The process was also supported by various print consumable industry associations across China, including China Computer Industry Association, Professional Consumable Committee, Shanghai Computer Trade Association and its Professional Consumable Committee, etc. Members of GDPCIA currently contain more than 50 companies.

Analysts found Guangdong’s aftermarket print consumable companies produce 90% ribbons, over 70% new, compatible ink cartridges and more than 30% remanufacturing toner cartridges in the global market. Plus, those companies obtain nearly 70% patent for print consumable in China.

Many industry people believe GDPCIA will help enhance the standardization of the print consumable industry and lead the industry to complete the transformation and upgrade.
