HCCT to Showcase Low-melt Color Toner at RemaxWorld

Singapore-based HCCT (Hong Cai Color Technology) is set to showcase its 102°C low-melt color toner for copiers at this year’s RemaxWorld expo, scheduled from October 17 to 19 in Zhuhai, China.

HCCT is one of the few toner manufacturers in the industry producing toners that melt at temperatures below 110°C. According to Dr. James Chen, Managing Director of HCCT, low-melt toner is the future trend thanks to its environmental benefits, energy savings, higher print quality and superior compatibility. With 42 years of experience in toner research and development, Dr. Chen established HCCT in 2023, focusing on the production of low-melt color toners. Dr. Chen stated the company is now capable of mass producing low-melt color toner at 102°C. “We have also mastered 98°C toner-melting technology in the lab, which will be ready for mass production soon,” exclaimed Dr. Chen.

HCCT boasts that its low-melt toner outperforms others in terms of fixing stability and offers a glossy finish comparable to traditional printing. “That’s why we are preferred by OEMs,” said Chen. “We can supply toners to OEMs in accordance with their specific temperature requirements.”

Low-melt toner R&D is a long and challenging process, requiring continuous investment in both capital and talent. Dr. Chen revealed the company had invested about US$ 20 million in the development of the low-melt color toners in the past years. As early as 2003, he began studying low-melt toner techniques. By 2014, he had built a team of 24 R&D specialists. “It took us 4.5 years to just reduce the temperature from 115°C to 110°C. This is just one example to illustrate the challenges and difficulties in developing low-melt toners,” said Dr. Chen.

Due to stable print quality, exceptional brightness, and reliable technical support, HCCT’s low-melt color toners have been well received by OEMs such as Sharp and Xerox, as well as customers from North America, Europe, and Asia.

“We will continue our research and development efforts to reduce the melting temperature further to meet the ever-changing demands in different applications beyond paper. In about 5-10 years, we expect to reduce the temperature to 70°C,” said Dr. Chen.

Buyers interested in low-melt color toners are welcome to visit HCCT at Booth 6335 during the RemaxWorld expo this October. “We are honored to have invited representatives from OEM low-melt machine providers to our booth during the RemaxWorld expo. Come and see the prints for yourself,” said Dr. Chen.

In addition, HCCT will also showcase replacement toners for Xerox 6th and 7th generation color toners, and compatible high bright color toners for the Sharp MX series.

Dr. Chen called on the industry to carry on the efforts in developing low-melt toners. “I hope we can leave a cleaner and more beautiful environment for the future generations,” said Dr. Chen.
