Helen Duan Selected for China National Intellectual Property Disputes

337 Investigations Helen Duan (pictured) has been selected an expert by the China intellectual property research center and the national overseas intellectual property disputes response and guidance center.

Duan is on the second batch of expert list issued by the above-mentioned institutions. A total of 51 legal experts, both from domestic and overseas with backgrounds from supreme courts and supreme procuratorates, were chosen through strict selection and approval.“I am very honored to be selected to the expert list,” said Duan.

Duan is general manager and executive founder of Innopat Intellectual Property Co., Ltd. Having engaged in the print consumables industry for more than 20 years, Duan has deep understanding and unique insights for patents and lawsuits relating to the industry. She has gained considerable experiences in dealing with 337 investigations. She involved in more than ten 337 investigations, and successfully helped several defendants cleared customs in U.S.

Duan also spoke at RemaxWorld Summit in 2016 and 2017.

Back in July, 2019, China established a national center to offer guidance to Chinese entities on resolving overseas intellectual property disputes.

The center has two main tasks: to guide and serve Chinese enterprises in safeguarding their IP rights overseas; and to help them better understand and respect the IP systems and rules of overseas jurisdictions.
