How Possible is it to Enter China to Visit RemaxWorld Expo?

It’s been three years since Covid-19 broke out globally. It’s also been the third year international buyers have been unable to enter China to meet suppliers face-to-face at RemaxWorld Expo, or to visit their factories.

With the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in most parts of the world, buyers have been reaching out to Comexposium-RT (RT)—the expo’s organiser—to see if China has opened its borders making it possible to visit RemaxWorld Expo this year in Zhuhai. The dates are November 3-5, 2022.

Most international buyers visiting RemaxWorld in previous years had flown into Hong Kong or the mainland airport in Guangzhou. RT staff have collected some travel and border information for Hong Kong and Guangzhou for your information only:

• Guangzhou: 7+3 days quarantine

According to the official document issued on August 11 by Guangzhou Health Committee, international visitors holding a valid visa must take a nucleic acid amplification test (PCR test) upon arrival. They will be taken to a designated, registered hotel for a mandatory 7-day quarantine. They will be required to stay in the hotel room during this time with meals delivered to the room. Each visitor must take an additional nucleic acid amplification (PCR) test on day 3, day 5 and day 7. A further period of three days quarantine must be taken but can be in a hotel of choice. Again, each visitor may not leave the room and must take another nucleic acid amplification (PCR) test on the third day. All accommodation and meal costs are at the expense of the visitor.

• Hong Kong: 0+3 days quarantine

From September 26, incoming travellers will only be required to go through three days of self-monitoring at a place of their own choice, with their movement citywide limited. During the three-day monitoring period, they will be assigned an amber color under the city’s digital health code, which will prevent them from entering places such as bars or restaurants. They will need to provide a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) 24 hours before they board. They will also need to do nucleic acid amplification tests (PCR tests) on days 2, 4 and 6 after arrival, and a RAT test every day for seven days after arrival. All accommodation and meal costs are at the expense of the visitor.

• Travellers entering Zhuhai from Hongkong after quarantine have to take 7-day quarantine in designated hotels and 3-day self-monitoring at places of their own choice, as well as PCR tests on day 1, day3, day5 and day7.

Shuttle buses are available from Hongkong to Zhuhai via the Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge. Travellers have to book bus tickets from HZMB Shuttle Bus in advance and have a 24-hour negative PCR test proof ready printed in color.

Travellers entering Zhuhai from Guangzhou after 7+3 day quarantine do not need to quarantine again.

Travellers are advised to check with airlines for airfare information, pricing and ticket availability.  Travellers must do thorough research and check first as things keep changing weekly. “They should seek advice from their travel agents and their local Chinese embassy before making travel plans,” said Victoria Zhao, General Manager of Comexposium-RT (RT).
