iAICON Warns of Latest HP Firmware Update
According to a recent notice released on iAICON’s official website, an HP firmware update has been issued and distributed among HP 95X series cartridges, which may cause compatibility issues.
The firmware update was launched on January 24 and released under the version numbers of 2502A, 2502B and 2502AR. It was distributed to users’ device automatically via Wi-Fi if the auto-update function is enabled. Upon installation of this firmware update, some printers may fail to detect the cartridge, prompting the message “Non-HP Chip Detected”. The recognition failure may render the printer unusable even if all components are functioning normally.
To avoid being affected by the firmware update, iAICON recommends users of the aforementioned devices turn off the auto-update feature in their settings to cut off online automatic update. For those who haven’t installed the update yet, iAICON also advises them not to manually download new firmware from HP’s official website until respective solutions have been provided to minimize potential loss.
For users whose printers are already affected by the firmware update and thus unable to recognize cartridges or chips, they can contact iAICON via email or WhatsApp at +86-15992688079. To today there are not further information about other potential impacts of the firmware and effective solutions to the affected models.
