Japan MPS Market to Reach $745 million in 2017
According to IDC, the Japan MPS market revenue reached 34.69 billion yen(US$ 351.29 million) in 2012, up 17.5% year-over-year, and it will reach 73.6 billion yen(US$ 745 million) in 2017, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.2% between 2012 and 2017.
In Japan, print vendors have been deploying MPS aggressively to promote its growth in printing market. Whilst user companies, which have suffered from tough economic conditions, expect MPS to reduce their printing costs and improve employee productivity. IDC predicts that the market will reach 40.03 billion yen (US$ 405.37 million) in 2013, increased by 15.4% from last year. As many vendors are competing for the user companies with 1,000 to 4,999 employees, it’s also predicted that vendors will have more activities to promote product understanding among these companies, and this segment market will grow dramatically.
“The Japan MPS market will continue to expand steadily in 2013, especially in the large-enterprise segment. Given that MPS has not penetrated the Japan market to a great extent, it still has a lot of room for growth. It will be necessary for MPS vendors to provide high value-added services, leveraging the strong relationships they have established with user companies through MPS delivery,” said Eiji Ishida, Group Manager, Imaging, Printing, & Document Solutions, IDC Japan.
Plus, IDC states that MPS has been expanding worldwide, particularly in the United States and Western Europe, and substantially in Asia/Pacific.
