KILIDER Introduces Patented Drum Unit for Ricoh Copiers

KILIDER has developed a self-invented, patented drum unit for Ricoh A3 color copiers MPC6003/6004/IMC6000/6010 series. This new drum unit has received approval from the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration, with an official invention patent (ZL202411269135.8), according to KILIDER.

The KILIDER technical team identified and addressed a significant design flaw in Ricoh’s original drum units for the MPC6003/6004/IMC6000/6010 series. “During transportation, the carrier in the developer unit would spill onto the drum frame, causing the magnetic rod and internal gears to jam. This flaw has inconvenienced users, forcing them to disassemble and clean the components before resuming operation,” said the spokesperson of KILIDER.

Recognizing the need for a reliable alternative, KILIDER conducted extensive research, purchasing large quantities of original Ricoh drum units and machines for testing and analysis.

Drum units are critical components of printers and copiers, requiring precise coordination, torque control, and exacting parameters among various parts. Without infringing on Ricoh’s patent, KILIDER’s technical team made strategic adjustments to the internal design and parameters of the drum unit.

KILIDER claims the new unit has passed rigorous environmental and printing tests, meeting all performance indicators. It also successfully endured vibration and long-distance transport tests, effectively solving the gear jamming issues caused by carrier leakage.

In addition to resolving these technical challenges, KILIDER optimized the structure and component configurations of the original drum units, developing a versatile drum unit that can be used across different Ricoh series.
