Konica Minolta Continues Enhancement of A3 Color MFP Line with bizhub C454e and C554e

On May 29, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. continued the upgrade of its A3 color MFP line that it began in April with the launch of the bizhub C454e and the bizhub C554e.

Just as the bizhub C224e, C284e, and C364e (see “Konica Minolta Debuts Enhanced bizhub C224e, C284e, and C364e”), which Konica Minolta announced in April, replace the bizhub C224, C284, and C364, which were less than one year old, the new bizhub C454e and C554e replace the bizhub C454 and C554, which were announced in August 2012.

The bizhub C454e and C554e are based on the same engine design as the bizhub C454 and C554. The new MFPs feature the same improvements over the older MFPs that the bizhub C224e, C284e, and C364e offered over their predecessors. These enhancements include a newer version of the INFO-Palette control panel that offers improved swiping, drag and drop, tap and toggle, pinch in and pinch out, and image-rotation operations; support for downloadable apps from the bizhub Marketplace; compliance with the IEEE 2600.1 security standard; a system on chip (SoC) that allows the new models to achieve power consumption of less than 1.0 watt in sleep mode; and support for the LK-110 and LK-111 i-Option kits.

The bizhub C454e is a 45 ppm (black and color) MFP with a 150,000-page maximum monthly duty cycle, while the bizhub C554e is a 55 ppm device with a maximum monthly duty cycle of 200,000 pages. The bizhub C454e has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $24,410, and the bizhub C554e is priced at $29,930. Other specifications are as shown below.
