Konica Minolta’s MFPs and Production Printing See Strong Growth
Konica Minolta released its first quarter (April through June 2014) financial report for the 1Q2015 fiscal year ending March 2015. It shows the company recorded net sales of ¥228.2 billion ($2.226 billion USD), a 4.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase. Ordinary income was ¥10.4 billion ($101.5 million USD), up 48.2%; while net income totaled ¥5.6 billion ($54.6 million USD).
Operating income amounted to ¥11.6 billion ($113 million USD), a 49.1% increase compared with the same period last year. Konica reported sales growth in the Business Technologies segment has driven momentum for the entire Group. The Business Technologies segment, including Office Services and Commercial/Industrial Print, recorded net sales of ¥181.3 billion ($1.77 billion USD) up 6.8% YoY.
According to Konica Minolta, “In the Business Technologies Business, sales volume of A3 color MFPs (multifunctional peripherals) in the office services field expanded compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year. In addition, hybrid type sales that combine MFPs with IT services produced good results in Europe and the United States.
In the commercial/industrial print field, the effect of new products made a contribution to results and sales volumes of both color units and monochrome units, with growth in digital printing systems. In the inkjet field, strong sales continued, particularly in inkjet print heads and ink for industrial use.”
