Kyocera Granted Patent on Printing System and Method

According to Hispanic Business.com, U.S. patent 8,488,136 was issued July 16, 2013, to Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. for a printing system and method. With this innovative system, file data described in Page-Description Language (PDL) can be directly printed by a PC with a printer.

The printing system and method incorporates the development of printers which can print a PDF file sent from a PC to a printer without being converted into printed data.

A document file is usually converted into print data by a printer driver installed on a PC before it is printed out. But large PDF files make the conversion a lengthy, time consuming process. Kyocera’s novel printer can print such files straight from a PC to a printer without conversion, thereby saving precious time.
