Markem-Imaje Names New President and CEO
Markem-Imaje has appointed Vincent Vanderpoel as its new president and chief executive officer.
Markem-Imaje recently acquired Heidelberg’s CSAT inkjet subsidiary, and described the development as part of a ‘focused strategy to broaden our technological expertise’ with ‘more specific, effective solution sets delivered by our vast global sales and service network’.
Vanderpoel is a global executive who has lived in Europe, Asia and the US. He brings many years of experience in the digital printing industry, including 25 years with Hewlett-Packard, where most recently he directed the laser, enterprise and solution business as vice-president and general manager, EMEA.
He has also spent 12 years in Asia, where he held various executive positions, including overseeing a multi-billion dollar consumable business for Asia-Pacific and Japan.
Vanderpoel succeeds Serge Kral who will be retiring after a successful 20-year career with the company, including the past three years as its leader.
In a statement, Markem-Imaje said: ‘Vincent Vanderpoel brings new energy and an enhanced focus on growth to Markem-Imaje, and will lead the group’s efforts to serve an increasingly broad customer base around the world.’
