MKIC Takes up Reorganization
As part of the Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Chemicals group, MKIC manufactures toners and OPCs for the OEM and aftermarket, and supplies remanufacturers with various components through its MKIC/Future Graphics brand. Now more than 26 staff leave the company, as it makes changes in the global and North American operations.
As was reported by the Recycler, Thomas Spicker, Vice President of Sales, and Manny Matamoros, International Sales Director for South America, leave the company. Also left were 6 staff at its Virginia facility and 20 more at its Mexico facility.
After opening a 16,000 square meter warehousing facility in Tijuana, Mexico, the company relocated its sales and administration headquarters to Glendale, California in September 2013.
The Recycler revealed joining MKIC in 2004, Spicker developed a sales model to dealers and distributors in Europe direct from MKIC’s factory headquarters in Chesapeake, Virginia. After the company’s acquisition of Future Graphics in California, he became the International Vice President in charge of all sales to China, Asia, Europe, Canada and Latin America. In January 2014, Spicker took responsibility for the North-American market.
Spicker also told Recycling Times, although he was disappointed with the decision, he is optimistic with the development of the remanufacturing industry.
With 20 year work experience at MKIC/Future Graphics, Matamoros was the International Sales Director for Latin America who was responsible for all sales in Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
