NAND ipl Appointed REACH Representative
Indian toner manufacturer NAND ipl has appointed CS Regulatory as its REACH representative in European Union. The REACH stands for Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.
As the official statement revealed, “The main aims of REACH are to ensure a high level of protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, the promotion of alternative test methods, the free circulation of substances on the internal market and enhancing competitiveness and innovation.”
It’s said REACH makes industry responsible for assessing and managing the risks posed by chemicals and providing appropriate safety information to their users.
Meanwhile, NAND ipl noted its material safety data sheets (MSDS) are now CLP compliant. As another EU standard, CLP Regulation “ensures that the hazards presented by chemicals are clearly communicated to workers and consumers in the European Union through classification and labelling of chemicals”.
Kumar Binit, Director of NAND ipl, said, “EU is a very important market for NAND and a majority of the business is from EU, and thus it is very important for NAND to comply with all the regulations for exporting toner to EU countries. With REACH and CLP compliant MSDS, NAND has ensured that customers in EU are fully protected by the laws of importing toners from India.”
