New Canon Printer Lineup Coordinates with Cloud Services
Canon Inc. announced July 8 the introduction of three new entry-level large-format inkjet printers for a wide range of printing demands, including CAD (computer-aided design) and GIS (geographic information systems) applications and poster production.
The imagePROGRAF iPF610 plus and iPF605L plus accommodate print media up to A1+ in size, and the iPF510 plus is capable of producing A2+ size printouts. The first two will be introduced in July, and the remaining one in August. Their prices range from 198,000 yen to 278,000 yen ($1,960-$2,752).
With imagePROGRAF Direct Print & Share (DPS) software, which ships with the printers, the new lineup supports a variety of file formats, including PDF, JPEG and TIFF without the need for dedicated applications or printer drivers.
The DPS software also allows users to order print jobs combining different file formats and adjust print settings from a single screen. Files can easily be uploaded to and downloaded from a cloud-based service facilitating the sharing of the latest data over the cloud in real time, with construction and design companies in remote locations or across multiple sites.
