You wouldn’t buy a phone, TV set or car made with 30 year old dated technology. Neither would you want your dentist or doctor to use dated procedures he/she used 30 years ago.
The way printer cartridges are made and remanufactured in 2013 has also changed from the way they were 30 years ago too. So the global printer cartridge industry, valued at US$40 billion, is about to receive an updated magazine as well.
Recycling Times has been publishing news about the original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, as well as the aftermarket consumables remanufacturers since 2007. In that time, it has seen many “mom and pop” operations close, mergers and acquisitions take place, as the aftermarket industry has matured.
The OEMs have advanced the technology and performance of printer consumables. At the same time, they have initiated fierce litigation to protect their patents and intellectual property rights. The combination of these two factors has seen the demise of many after market businesses around the world. In the USA alone, the number of remanufacturers has diminished from 7,000 to less than 1,000.
The Recycling Times Media team conducted research in the Americas, Europe and Asia. “We have found the aftermarket needs to read the global news more quickly,” says Publisher and Managing Director Tony Lee. “They want access to more details as necessary. They want opinions and views. They want market analysis and trends. They want to be briefed on legal issues, new products and solutions. They want to know the price of purchasing empties for remanufacture.”
They want a different magazine.
The new look Recycling Times magazine will be launched in April. Advertisers, contributors and potential subscribers are asking what it will look like. So Recycling Times has put a sneak peak sample edition online. Go to: http://www.irecyclingtimes.com/main.php?web=1&ep_id=105
