OEMs Provide Assistance to Ukraine
Following the quick response to comply with the sanctions imposed against Russia, some OEMs has claimed to provide assistance to Ukraine.
Brother claimed that it will donate €500,000 as a Group to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine and neighbouring countries.
“Brother is extremely saddened that so many innocent lives are being negatively impacted by the current situation in Eastern Europe and have decided to extend our support to those in need. We sincerely hope that everyone impacted finds safety and security and our thoughts remain with all those affected in Ukraine and the wider area including our customers, employees, and business partners,” said the spokesman of Brother.
In addition to suspending product shipments to Russia, Konica Minolta also provided humanitarian assistance to those affected in Ukraine and surrounding regions.
Through the neighbouring subsidiaries, Konica Minolta European employees helped Ukrainian colleagues and their families with relocation, transportation, immigration services and more.
Konica Minolta also launched a matching gift fund-raising activity to provide direct support to its employees in Ukraine and supporting countries. For the funds donated from its employees, Konica Minolta contributes the same amount. “The company contributes the same amount to voluntary donations from employees. We are also inviting the Group companies in Japan to join donations through the same mechanism.,” said the spokesman of Konica Minolta.
