OKI Data Americas Announces Executive Leadership Changes
Oki Data Americas announces the appointment of Masahiko Morioka as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Mitsuaki Takahara as Executive Vice President, effective July 21, 2013.
Morioka currently serves as Deputy President of OKI Data Corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, where he is responsible for formulating managerial policies as well as implementing an integrated global strategy for sales and marketing across 120 regions worldwide. As President and CEO of OKI Data Americas, Morioka will be responsible for the vision, strategy and leadership for the company. In addition to his assumption of the role of President of OKI Data Americas, he will continue to serve as Deputy President of OKI Data Corporation.
Takahara returns to OKI Data Americas as Executive Vice President (EVP), having previously served as Senior Vice President and Advisor within the company’s Corporate Planning Office from 2006-2010. He currently serves as Deputy General Manager for Marketing and Sales at OKI Data Corporation. In his new role as EVP of OKI Data Americas, Takahara will oversee development of international business operations in all product areas within the North American and Latin American markets. He will also serve as Chairman of the organization’s North American Management Committee.
Morioka joined Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. in 1981, and has held a number of positions within the company before joining OKI Data in 2009.
Takahara has been with Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. since 1982. He, too, has held several positions within the company.
With this change in leadership, OKI Data Americas’ current President and Chief Executive Officer, Takabumi Asahi, returns to assume a new post within the Sales and Marketing Division of OKI Data Corporation in Japan following conclusion of his four year term leading North and Latin American operations.
