OKI Partners with Toshiba
OKI and Toshiba co-launched the first collection of multifunction products (MFPs) incorporating technologies from both companies. Cornworth will distribute the devices.
Paul Francois, OKI product manager at Comworth said, “A key part of the agreement was the use of the Digital LED print engine. It has made OKI’s devices as speedy and reliable products for years. Consumers want print control, document management and easy integration of these devices into their environment. OKI’s color MFPs are designed to meet their needs, and are ideal devices for the mid to large workgroup environment.”
He added, “These new products enable Managed Print Services providers to gain new consumers. The digital LED print engine with its reliability and longevity is combined with Toshiba’s Open Platform technology. It makes this first range an ideal platform to provide cost-effective services.” Toshiba’s Open Platform controller technology in the new MFPs enables system integrators to develop additional solutions for enhancing workflow integration.
Although single-function printers maintain their specific roles in business, Francois said that higher efficiencyand lower-cost printing drive the demand for the wider use of MFPs in the business market. OKI expects nearly 10 percent year-on-year growth of demands for A4 color MFPs in the global market.
These two companies are targeting global sales of 30,000 units over the coming year. The new A4 and A3 Color MFPs focusing on business printing will be available across the world and are expected to reach the Asia-Pacific region after this June.
