Page Reset Count Technology Released
Laser printer parts manufacturer Metrofuser (www.metrofuser.com) has introduced page reset count technology into their HP LaserJet M652 M653 M681 M682 transfer belts (P1B93-67901).
This model transfer belt has a designed life cycle of 150,000 pages, at which time a message appears on the control panel telling the user to perform maintenance replacement. Prior to this announcement, technology distributors only offered transfer kits that would either not reset the page count or expensive OEM belts.
Metrofuser developed a proprietary solution similar the original equipment manufacture enabling remanufactured M652 M653 M681 M682 transfer belts to properly reset the page count to zero upon installation.
“In the past technicians have reset page counts themselves through a procedure at the printer’s control panel, but the OEM has engineered the M652 M653 M681 M682 transfer belts to perform the task on its own,” said Will DeMuth, COO at Metrofuser, “With this new technology, printer technicians and users can install our remanufactured belts and be confident that the part will automatically reset like it is supposed to.”
In addition to resetting the page count it clears the “REPLACE TRANSFER BELT” control panel message. The transfer belt can be purchased at a 30% discount when compared to new if the customer sends the old used transfer belt back in for recycling.Step by step HP transfer belt replacement instructions are available at
