Panasonic India Intros New Refill Toners for Its MFPs
According to IT-Webquest, Panasonic India recently released refill toners for its entire range of multifunction printers (MFPs). Priced from Rs 480 to Rs 1,395 (US $7.9 to $22.9), the new releases target the Jobbers segment, as well as the small to medium size business (SMB) segment, with an effective cost per copy on both the 26 page per minute (ppm) MB2085 and the 28 ppm MB2235 printers.
Panasonic India believes these new products are an effective solution providing “a heavy-duty, legal size, platen printer and a genuine refill toner to make the copy cost competitive to an A3 size copier”. Also, they will not void the printer’s warranty and will provide customers a consistent printer performance.
“Our strategy in India gyrates around endowing our customers through product innovations,” stated Mr. Ajay Madan, General Manager for Digital Imaging System at Panasonic India. “With this launch, we want to benefit our customers with a great printer performance and low running cost. These offerings are demonstrative of our policy of giving back to the environment through products with a reduced environmental impact and yet add value to the customer.”
Global research firm Photizo observes that OEMs are challenged with pressures in the supplies aftermarket, because third-party remanufactured and refilled ink as well as toner cartridges provide a lower-cost alternative. But it points out that “non-geniune cartridges may not deliver the quality and reliability that users expect”. Panasonic India is now offering the combination of quality and low price, and aftermarket suppliers will find that combination a really tough nut to crack.
